Holiday Host Your Heart Out

This holiday season, Food52 and Shipt teamed up to host an event experience designed to arm holiday hosts with the skills they need to create the perfect seasonal soiree at home using Food52-approved inspiration delivered in little to no time at all, thanks to Shipt!

The event was co-hosted by Food52 Creative Director, Elizabeth Spiridakis Olson, who served as our home & design expert and food content creator, Erin O’Brien, who served as our drinks & bites aficionado. They both came together to marry both parts of the entertaining process with their signature styles for 75+ VIP guests including influencers in the home, food, style, and parenting space.

Utilizing the unique set-up of our venue—Wheelhouse LA— we curated three pop-up activations in three distinct areas of the space, each exploring a different interactive party moment and how it can be achieved with the help of Food52 and Shipt. Passed light bites throughout kept everyone mingling and flowing throughout the space. Activations included:

Timeless Tablescape: The holiday table is where everything comes together; signature sips, delicious bites, and the standout decor pieces that set the ambiance for the party. In this activation, Elizabeth Spiridakis Olson showed attendees how to master the art of tablescapes through quick “tablescape recipes” that hosts can keep in their arsenal for years to come. The three set ups were for Family Holiday Brunch, White Elephant Dinner Party, and New Year’s Eve Soiree. Each set up married a mix of Food52 classic elements, easily Shipt-able decor, and seasonal touches that make the table feeling fresh and exciting.

DIY Crostini Station: The easy yet oh-so impressive appetizer perfect for all holiday get-togethers this year: the crostini. This activation featured a variety of different crostini toppers made using ingredients sourced from Shipt. Attendees were invited to build their own favorite combos, all starting with toasted baguette slices. Think: whipped ricotta, prosciutto, figs, and honey or tangy goat cheese, red onion jam, and fresh basil.

Signature Sips & Garnish Bar: Every good holiday celebration starts with a drink in hand. We invited attendees to personalize their cocktail at the garnish bar, complete with options like candied ginger, edible flowers, fresh herb sprigs, cocktail cherries, and more. Erin O’Brien was there to chat with guests at the signature sips station, offering her own tips for the perfect holiday beverage and what she’s serving up this year.

Attendees went home with a gift bag of goodies they’ve learned about throughout the night as well as a complimentary Shipt membership for themselves and a friend.
